Laska Lyon Schoenfelder

In honor of her contributions to South Dakota as Public Utility Commissioner from 1988-2001 and as Davison County’s Register of Deeds from 1973-1982, and her contributions to the role of women in South Dakota politics. Laska served on the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners (NARUC) for twelve years and was recognized by the Commission for playing a pivotal role both in NARUC's successful endeavors during the passage of the Telecommunications Act of 1996, and their subsequent efforts to work cooperatively with the FCC on a range of implementation issues.
