Honoring: SueAnne Big Crow

SuAnne Big Crow was a superb basketball player who scored 2,541 points while starring at Pine Ridge High School. Her legacy of promoting cultural understanding and goodwill among all people has been felt across South Dakota since her death at age 17 from a car accident on Feb. 9, 1992.

I chose this wonderful South Dakota woman because she inspired me when my dad told me what the "Spirt of Su" award was. I saw it being presented on tv when watching the state basketball tournament. As my parents told me more about her, I became very inspired. Read my essay.
